“The Fool Loves … Journeying - An Imagination Primer” is the companion book for architect/artist/Tarotist Jordan Hoggard’s independently produced, 78 card “Mystereum Tarot”. The deck is a vibrant work that Jordan evolved through the use of the CAD program that he uses for his architectural work. The book does not disappoint.

I should note here that there are actually six books in the “Imagination Primer” series. You can get all 78 cards in one book (which is what I did), or you can purchase separate books for the Major Arcana and each of the four suits.

The full version, which is what I am reviewing here, consists of 157 full color (full, vibrant color!) pages. The book is in hardback (yes!), with a deep purple front and back cover. Text on the covers is minimal, using a white font color. Very nice presentation!

Each card is presented in full page (8 ½” by 11”), full color format. The text that accompanies The Fool sets the tone for the book:

“The Fool loves the journey, loves each card expressing place along your way …”

The text is set in large, easily read type, white against a colored background (the windows that act as gateways for the graphics in the physical deck). The background color for the Major Arcana is purple, while Pentacles are green, Cups are blue, Wands are red, and Swords are orange.
