We have all been there – consulting the cards for what is essentially a simple question requiring a simple answer, and receiving a complex and nebulous answer. The Angel Answers Oracle Cards puts paid to all that with its elegantly simple premise – 44 cards of concise and unambiguous answers. Aside from the obvious 'Yes 'and ‘No’, other answers such as 'Not the Right Time', 'Take Action', 'Don't Stop', 'There's Something Better' are fairly typical of the deck. The genius of this oracle is that it can be used on its own or with virtually any other divinatory system, and can give clarity to any reading.

This 44 card deck has no Arcana or suits. It measures 90 x 128 mm, which makes it a little broader than many standard tarot decks and slightly smaller than many oracle decks. The card stock is high quality, quite heavy duty with only a little flexibility. The cards are very smooth with a glossy finish which facilitates easy handling and makes for smooth shuffling. The edges of the cards are gilded - the quality of the gilt is excellent, neither tarnishing or rubbing off when the cards are handled.

The print quality is very good, with beautiful, vivid colours; clean, clear lines, and no blurring or smudged images. The artwork appears to be digitally enhanced images of some fairly New Age type angels and other mystical beings. The images are quite serene and have a certain otherworldly glow about them.

The artist’s palette is best described as luminous pastels – soft without being wishy-washy. The images are predominantly rendered in rainbow colours - pinks, purples, mauves, golden yellows, with splashes of emerald, aqua, and cerise. Each image is contained within an elaborate frame of golden angels and satiny drapes. The divinatory meaning of each card is rendered large in a panel below the main image. The picture on the back of the cards is that of an angel in an elaborate headdress, holding a large glowing globe.

The cards and guidebook come in a solid cardboard box with a liftoff lid, which is printed with images of the cards and information about the deck. This is a solid little box set made to travel, which will fit easily into a handbag or backpack.

The 96 page guidebook has black-and-white reproductions of each card. It has a brief introduction which tells the user "How to Work with the Angel Answers Cards". This includes some helpful information on Clearing Your Deck, Preparing the Cards, Asking Questions, Shuffling of the Cards, and Choosing Cards. This is all common sense advice and would not be unfamiliar to most tarot readers. Following this are the Meanings of the Cards - which is brief expansions of the divinatory meanings printed on the cards. These meanings are consistently positive and helpful, encouraging the Seeker to maintain an optimistic outlook in relation to their questions.

Anyone seeking answers through divination could benefit from using this deck. It can be used to enhance any reading be it tarot, oracle, or psychic. Indeed it is so versatile that one wonders why a deck like this has not been developed sooner. A must have for any card reader.
