The Artist's Concept
I like the concept of the energy of creative force, enthusiasm, confidence, and courage symbolized by the Ace of Wands.
The figure of Kokopelli with his flute is pictured before the Grand Canyon as the spring sun melts winter's snow.
Petroglyphs have been found all over the Southwest of the figure of Kokopelli. His wand - his magic flute - symbolizes the creative force, confidence and courage of the Suit of Wands.
Kokopelli's flute can be heard in the spring breeze. With his magic flute he traveled from village to village, changing winter to spring. Some legends say that carrying heavy sacks of seeds to sow in the spring caused him to be permanently stooped, yet he tirelessly traveled. He brought the welcome spring rains, ensuring bountiful harvests.
Kokopelli also had an influence in the population growth of each village. As he played his flute at night, his beautiful music would inspire romance and the next morning all the maidens of the village would be pregnant.
