The Artist's Concept
I wanted the opportunity to change the negative appearance of the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith version. When this card comes up in a reading, Querents tend to get upset because they fear it means a violent death. I try to reassure them but I know the visual impression stays with them. What can I say? I involuntarily shudder when I see this card, too! I want to help people with tarot--not scare them!
I feel like the drawing is pretty self-explanatory -- a bull's eye, a hand preparing to throw a dart and 9 more darts to the side. The symbolism is to focus on your goal--the bull's eye.
Card Meaning
You've been overwhelmed with too many burdens. Examine your negative feelings created by the situation whether they are anger, fear, sadness, or whatever. Could the situation be related to responsibilities or suffering related to a karmic debt? When we take on too much we have the choice of allowing ourselves to be overwhelmed by the situation or finding a main target to focus on to survive. Focusing on a bull's eye will help you gain your perspective and regain control of the situation --don't allow yourself to get distracted or overwhelmed. Think through the situation and strip it of all superfluous information. Concentrate on one thing at a time. Focus on your target and aim.
Card Media
