Description

This image shows a toddler as the Fool, about to take her first steps into the unknown. She doesn't know of the lessons that life will bring her, or the adventures coming her way, but her eyes are bright and she isn't afraid. The smudgy images behind her indicate that her past is not what is important, it is the journey she is about to take. The colors of purple and green indicate both the spiritual and material elements of her journey.

Who is she? Where is she going? That's the beauty of the Fool card - each journey is as individual as we all are.

Card Meaning

This card is similar to the Rider Waite in that the character appears to be blissfully unaware of "walking off the cliff". They have complete confidence, either due to ignorance or by trusting that no one will let them come to harm, that they will be okay. They look forward to the journey.

Artistic Media

This card was made by enhancing a digital photo. The background was blurred while retaining the crispness of the toddler's image.

Artist's Bio

Amyel has been an Aeclectic Tarot Forum member for two years, and this is her first participation in the Aeclectic Tarot Project. Amyel lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she works very hard as a consultant. When not working, she tries to maintain her 1/2 acre garden, reads a lot, enjoys the company of friends and family and sings loudly (but not well) to Biff Naked, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Jazz. She has entered the realm of the tattooed at the age of 40 and looks forward to living her life well.
