Description & Symbolism
The King of Swords is shown with his head surrounded by clouds. A beam of light forms a sword that reaches to his shoulder., anointing him from above. His gaze is fixed, firm, and regal. A hint of arrogance is in his features, and confirmed by the lack of a crown. He IS King, with no need of supporting regalia. His robe is sky blue, reflecting the air aspect of his mind. The clouds recede to the light of analytical reason, of which he is so proud.
Card Meaning
The King of Swords is united in his thoughts and action, with little inclination to compromise. His shrewd and commanding manner lead some to believe that he is totally dominating. Emotional, or mystical thinking disturb him, because he is confident in his analytical powers of thought. These qualities make him a good leader in most situations, however his inability to understand a softer approach can lead to chaos. If his mental acumen becomes his only focus, he can easily become tyrannical, and cruel, while thinking that he is acting in other's best interest.
