Description

A man of vision and the courage to take visions hand and walk with it.

Symbolism

I have represented the King here as the child inside, burning with creativeness and bright ideas. I see him as the Magicians earthly counterpart: willing to look beyond the ordinary and see the extra-ordinary. Willing to accept the vision as the spark of creativity and to see what it may become.

Card Meaning

He is the epitome of the phrase go for it and a guiding light that we should all aspire to. The quintessential power to reach out to our dreams and make them whole.

If ever there was a time for wondering whether or not to do something we have always wished we could or should, the appearance of the King of Wands will surely be the kick up the bum we need. But more than this, and what separates him from the Fool in this respect, is his ability to plan. A master of innovation, yes, a non conformist, definitely, but also a natural leader who inspires us to achieve greatness of our own.

Remember that one, special teacher at school who got through to us? Maybe the therapist that helped us out of a bad habit? Perhaps even the bank manager who had so much faith in our idea that they even came to our open day? Or maybe just a grown up who knew we could cycle without those stabilisers. These are the King in our everyday lives.

Artistic Media

I painted the piece in Acrylics. I then used my Fuji FinePix 6900zoom digital camera and fused them all and generally mucked around in PhotoShop 7. The model is my daughter, Cally.

Artist's Bio

I graduated from Northbrook College of Art and Design in 2002 with an HNC completed in one year instead of three, and an HND completed in one year instead of two. An HND representing to the industry technical knowledge, whereas a Degree represents personal development but I'm as well developed as I need to be :O) I have been reading tarot cards for many years now, but since coming to Aeclectic my eyes have been opened to a whole new facet of Tarot, and my readings have been endowed with a whole new dimension also.
