Description

The Hermit finds himself in moments of contemplation - spare moments spent sipping tea and emptying his mind. His focus is on the flame coming from his candle - its light guides him to access his path of inner wisdom. In turn, this same flame will light the path for others. He connects with his heart-self through the rose quartz crystals, and is grounded by the clear quartz. The darkness surrounding him is comforting - it shuts out distractions and allows him the time to be with himself.

Symbolism

The dark background represents the void - that space between Spirit and the physical world. The teacup represents the Hermit - readying himself for his inner journey. The candle is purple - the color of spirit, and represents spirit. The flame from the candle represents the light of wisdom - the Hermit's inner wisdom. The rose quartz crystals form a mandala to the four elements, with Spirit/Self at the center. The single terminated clear quartz crystal represents the groundign that the Hermit needs to accomplish his inner journey.

Card Meaning

The teacup represents the Hermit in a meditative state - the state needed to enter into inner contemplation. The Hermit is relaxed and open, ready and willing to access his inner wisdom. The candle is the candle of spirit, the flame is the flame of wisdom - wisdom that comes from spirit. The Hermit is accessing his heart chakra, with the aid of the four elements and the rose quartz crystals. In his wisdom, he has grounded himself with the clear quartz crystal. Grounded and centered, the light of his acquired wisdom will brighten the path for himself, and for those that follow.

Artistic Media

The media used here was photography.
