Playing Card Symbol Interpretation

Unexpected joy, relief and release due to endings; a 'celebration of freedom' from a situation; letting loose, being temporarily out of control; letting down of personal pretenses and walls; showing ones true self while distancing from those around.

Artists Personal Symbol

A baby lop bunny was chosen because rabbits are natural inhabitant of a park. They can often be seen living and playing in parks and gardens. This baby lop has special meaning to the artist, as she was a pet that passed at a young age.

Card Description

A park is an area of land that is either natural or landscaped. It's believed the first parks were created during the medieval period for hunting by the aristocracy. Through history the purpose of a park has evolved. Today most parks are established for either passive or dynamic recreation.

A stream winds through a peaceful park on a fall day. You can't see the beginning or end of the stream, just a small section of that is rather still. Trees surround the scene and there are leaves in the stream and on the ground. A small rock wall supports the bank. Between the rocks there are some small plants, merging the ground and the supporting wall.

Card Interpretation

Parks are happy places, bringing joy to those in and around them. Based on a park's design and purpose it can provide many different feelings and experiences. National parks inspire different feelings than a park designed as a playground for children.

This park shows the changing of a yearly cycle; the end of growth and vibrancy of spring and summer, changing to the dormancy of fall and winter. The trees are letting their leaves fall to the ground and water. The water is stilling, synchronizing itself to the environment around it.

During this period of change, there is still much beauty to be seen and experienced. This is still a place to meet and celebrate with others. The leaves provide a beautiful palette of changing colors to inspire. The ground is still open ground to gather for a picnic or watch a performance. This is a time to enjoy your surroundings and environment.

Keywords

Impaired judgement, frustrations.

Artistic Media

The picture of the park was taken by RaeBelle in November 2006. The park is an actual park near her home, where she also got married. All image cropping and photo manipulation was performed by RaeBelle using GIMP.
