36 - Cross

by Melvis

Astrological Symbol Significance

Jupiter in Leo

Moving beyond this card means you will experience the growth in optimism and self-confidence necessary to become a leader. What you are currently experiencing as troubling will be an important part of your future self.

Playing Card Symbol Interpretation

Six of Clubs

Connect with others to find your way beyond the cross. It may be someone you know well, or simply an acquaintance. It could be the first sign that you are making progress though difficult times. Look to the cards on either side to indicate who these helpers might be.

Artists Personal Symbol

Rose

The rose indicates that you need to look beyond the current situation. Despite the thorns, the beauty of the rose's bloom makes the effort worthwhile. Deal with what is weighing over your head now, but keep in mind that there is a future free from the burden. Getting to that future is the battle you face now.

Card Description

A cross shape is cut out of a metal door which has oxidized with age. Where the metal of the door is translucent a stark leafless forest can be seen. A field of flowers beyond the door shows inside the cross. The field is full of sunlight and color, a distinct contrast with the colorless metal door.

Card Interpretation

The outside of the cross shows the metal surrounding the cross: rivets, rust and all. Not very pretty. Inside the cross is what is inside us: beauty, life, and more. Do you have the strength to move beyond the door, beyond what burdens you, to reach your goal? If there is a card below, use it to help you take the first steps toward releasing what holds you back.

Although the door seems too heavy to overcome, through the metallic exterior we glimpse trees; barren, naked trees, but trees all the same. They, like the metal exterior, appear rather bleak at first glance. But the trees will bud and become leafy again in the spring. The inside of the cross holds beauty which is in our reach. But we have to acknowledge the hardness of the cross itself -- the hardships we face -- and not let those difficulties overwhelm us before we can reach that beautiful future.
