As for me, I am some sort of a modern gnostic, thinking that all people via their Selves take part in divinity through a divine spark, and this divinity has something to do with knowledge, and knowing. And I think that tarot is a tool or a way (in lack of better words) to access this knowledge, whether it is kept inside us or with the gods/God. ~ Gazel

You're not always going to get things right so don't let that stress you. You're not supposed to. Some of the messages the Universe has for our sitters aren't meant to come through us. We're not supposed to hog the whole show. ~ Solitaire*

16th July, 2008

I always find it interesting that no matter what faith or how involved one may be in it, they still seem to often find their way to tarot, in spite of what the hierarchy may say about it. And the people I have read the most for have been active Catholics, Episcopalians, and Greek Orthodox. We are not alone in our thoughts about reading and enjoying tarot, by any means! ~ HearthCricket

The cards are a mediation tool and a method for me to look at problems from a different angle I may not have (or may not have wanted) to consider. ~ Silaria

25th June, 2008

Tarot is for me the most beloved tool for divination and a lot of other disciplines. Mostly it helps me understand myself better as well as the world around me - but it doesn't limit itself to that form. It helps me in journaling, dream analysis, visualisations, understanding my religion, etc.~ Astraea Aurora

My cards are my greatest tool for creating my future; my tool to clarify confusion and to sooth any pain in my life. They're, I guess you could say, one of my greatest coping tools. ~ SunChariot

Tarot is like a good friend who is taking care of me every single day of the year. I don't have to call him, don't have to write letters or emails to hear his voice which is sometimes comforting, sometimes upsetting. He is always there when I need him. What a better friend can I have? ~ Astraea Aurora

28th May, 2008

I use Tarot for a lot of things; sometimes something as simple as looking at a beautiful and meaningful picture. But on a spiritual level, it is something that allows my conversations with whatever Higher Power is out there to be more of a two-way street.
~ Deacon76

I use tarot as a means of developing my intuitive powers and as a divinatory magic, quite separate from any religious belief.
~ WhiteBirchWoman

14th May, 2008

I look at Tarot as a way of getting a different perspective -- using the cards to look at a situation in a way we hadn't before. What exactly causes a given card to come up (is it random, or is it Ordained by the Universe?) is something that I don't worry too hard about -- no matter how the Page of Wands got into the spread, she's still there with a message for me. ~ the_surfacer

7th May, 2008

I use Tarot cards to seek inner truths and guide me on my chosen course throughout life. I like learning, and the world of Tarot is a neverending well of information, ready to be absorbed.
~ inuzrule

30th April, 2008

I am drawn to the psychology, the insight into human nature, the beautiful and sometimes astounding artwork. How many versions of decks, and yet the universal truths each conveys about the human experience. Written words have limitations and language barriers, but the pictures convey meaning across time and culture.
~ asphodel

The soul is what directs us when we read at our best. That is what makes reading tarot a spiritual practice, even if we don't do it consciously. ~ Fudugazi

Tarot has been a blessing to me in many ways, but it opened up my spiritual senses from a visual perspective. It helped me to realized talents I never realized I had within me. ~ Gayla

19th March, 2008

Tarot brings that side to me, the spiritual side. Somehow it is the tool that reminds me that I'm not alone, that there are energies surrounding me in a plane which is not material... and at the end we are not just dust in space.~ Eowyn

Sit down with your deck, notebook, and pen. Take each card, one by one, and write in your notebook "your" impressions of the card. What you see, and feel. Doesn't have to be what the "book" says....it's what you feel inside that is right. Listen to your little voice. Each time you do a reading, write in the notebook....whether it's a full reading or just a one card a day....write it in the notebook.~ White Raven

16th October, 2007

Divination isn't about forecasting the future; but about understanding our present situation in a way that will prepare us for any challenge we may face at creating the future we want for ourselves.~ Enrique Enriquez

9th October, 2007

Divination is the art of drawing an analogy between Chance and our personal situation. "Divinare" means, literally, "being one with the Divine". The function of any oracle is helping us to tap into our inner wisdom, it doesn't matter where we think that inner wisdom comes from. ~ Enrique Enriquez

2nd October, 2007

Tarot is a complete education! ~ jewel-ry

25th September, 2007

Tarot is a tool & a teacher. Tools are used to fix and build things, the tarot helps to fix and build our lives. Tarot teaches us about ourselves and life around us. Tarot gives advice and encouragement, and can warn us of dangers. Tarot can be a connection to the mystical plane like spirits & such. Some hear the voice of the Divine through tarot, for without tarot, there would be no other way. ~ lunalafey

The 'cool' factor with oracle decks, IMO, is drawing cards that actually align with your question. Most times they do, but sometimes they don't. Very different from tarot where every card aligns with your question, you just have to figure out how. ~ Mellifluous

Tarot is... a book of seventy-eight detachable pages which may be read in any order or manner one wishes, to which any system of philosophy may be applied, no matter how contrived. ~ firemaiden

Tarot is more than just a deck of cards. This is the true beauty of tarot, it allows you to express your fascinations, the deep stirrings of your soul, encourage the psyche, the imagination to explore your fanaticism, your fantasies and reveal beliefs, hopes and dreams. ~ Bonnie Moss

14th August, 2007

The Tarot shows what was, what is and what will be according to their specific question, but it is the will of choice, the power that lies within the hands of the Querent that manifests the "to be or not to be" factual outcomes of their future. ~ Susan Ae

Tarot is a friend you can talk to; a friend who tells you not only the good things in life but also the bad... ~ jog1118

Tarot is a wise being with a divine intelligence and universal proportions. Its symbols are like beautiful multifaceted gems. The discovery and contemplation of each one may reflect parts of our being previously hidden or lying dormant. So too, our life and world may be reflected back to us in richly woven symbols for our deeper consideration or action.
