The Yoga Tarot blends the Eastern spiritual discipline of yoga with the 78 cards of Tarot. The watercolour images are bright and almost psychedelic, mixing yoga positions, Indian motifs and a somewhat comic-book artistic style.

Yoga Tarot Review by Falcor
Yoga Tarot is one of the most unusual decks I have.
First of all it's just strikingly beautiful. The images style is cartoonish, a little comic like with vibrant colors. It tends to minimalize symbols on the cards but uses the colors mixture to help the message out. And I must say it's a very refreshing attitude.
The colors are strong and whatever that doesn't belong will not appear on the card. Same can be told about people, animals and objects that are drawn on every card. Words like chakra, sacred geometry, meditation, spirituality and ancient wisdom appear in my head when I look on the card. Everything serves the idea, the meaning behind the known to us "letter" of tarot language.
Second, this deck is representing a very different culture, rich with sub-meanings, customs, symbols and etc. A magnificent world somewhere out there. Yoga is more a way of life as I have understood. I don't know much about yoga but it seems to be something very deep that help you to balance yourself and to be more in peace with who you really are. Self-acceptance is something rare in our society. It makes me curious to learn more about yoga.
And there is a last but very interesting thing about this deck. The very brief (why?!) little white booklet points us to ask ourselves questions. Instead of getting answers what each card means(as we are used to), we are sent to look answers for ourselves, to think, to meditate and to come out with new understanding. It's wonderful, isn't it?
So much 'yoga way' for you, take it or leave. I wish there would be a solid companion book for this deck because it deserves and needs to be explained to depth.
The backs are symmetric and the deck can be worked with in reversible cards to. But I personally don't see a need here since all the system behind it so different from the mainstream. The cards themselves are a bit too thin and fragile (yet flexible) but very pleasant to feel.
The suits are associated with different yoga styles and symbols:
Swords - the non mind- trident - Raja Yoga (to be)
Chalices - the heart - lotus flower - Bahti Yoga (to love)
Pentacles - the body - mandala - Hatha Yoga (to live)
Wands - desire - Vajra symbol - Karma Yoga (to create)
This deck, in my opinion, can't be understood fast; it's very nontraditional and needs patience and attention. I am so going to enjoy working with it slowly, allowing my intuition to take over and to guide me.
