The Animism Tarot merges tarot and animal symbolism in a fully-illustrated 79-card deck. Each of its charming cards, originally painted in a textured acrylic, showcases a different animal. A wholly Australian tarot deck, each of the 78 cards in the Australian Animal Tarot has a different animal, bird, reptile or insect illustrated in lifelike detail. A gemstone and four keywords are also associated with each card. Suit elements have also been changed - Wands are Earth, Swords are Fire and Pentacles are Air.

The Badgers Forest Tarot is the fourth deck from Nakisha, with 78 borderless cards illustrated with animals in their natural surroundings. The Fantastic Menagerie Tarot has original artwork based on 19th century drawings by French artist, J. J. Grandville. The witty, detailed cards are based on the Rider-Waite pattern and feature fantastical human-like animals. Another deck from the very talented combination of Karen Mahony and Alex Ukolov from baba studio.

The Fantastical Creatures Tarot has 78 cards of mythical creatures, fantasy animals and legendary races, painted in watercolours in Lisa Hunt's beautiful and detailed style. It's based on the Rider-Waite, but in this deck Swords are associated with Fire and Wands with Air.

According to the Pet Owner's Tarot (which is really an oracle deck), happiness is a pig in mud, and wisdom is an owl perched in a tree. A cute deck, which can be difficult to find.

The Power Animal Oracle is a positive deck of 40 cards designed to connect you to the animal spirit guides in your life. The art is attractive and close to life in its depictions of the animals.

The Power Animal Tarot has simplistic cards without tarot symbolism, just close-up photographs of different animals that have had a graphics software filter applied to the images. At the top of each card, the title appears in four languages.

The Rabbit Tarot is one for the animal lovers! It has rabbits appearing instead of humans on the cards, but still manages to retain workable tarot symbolism. It's a full 78 card deck, and would be suited for children, the young at heart, or readers with anxious querents.

Secret Language of Animals Oracle
The Secret Language of Animals Oracle has 46 cards with illustrations of threatened and endangered animals. The deck's animal cards are divided into five elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Wood), and there is an extra Gaia card. The deck comes with a full companion book.

The Shadow Animal Oracle Cards take a selection of the more unsavoury members of the animal kingdom - like tapeworms and leeches - to see what lessons might hide behind the mandibles and slimy exteriors. The deck is still in development.

Simple Wisdom of the Household Dog is a light-hearted photo oracle from the point of view of Emily Carding's dog, Albus Dumbledog. The cards show everyday events from the dog's life, and are designed to offer a simpler perspective on our over-complicated lives.

Spirit of the Wheel Meditation Deck
The Spirit of the Wheel Meditation Deck combines a study of the Native American medicine wheel with softly coloured, visionary artwork. It has 40 cards illustrated with animal scenes (and some people) along with keywords, and is designed for meditation, affirmations and self-growth.

The Sylph Tarot is a butterfly-themed deck with beautiful, ethereal images drawn freehand in pencil. The major arcana are complete and available as a limited edition set, though the minor arcana are still being created.

The TaRat is a cute miniature novelty deck, painted in watercolour, that features white rats as the tarot characters. It's in similar style to Nakisha's previous deck, the Rabbit Tarot. Originally designed as a mini deck, it's now available as a full size deck with color backs.

i Taro Gatti is a 22-card Italian deck, from a paper company in Perugia. Cats are the theme and have also become the Tarot symbols in several cards. The artwork is black, white and red printed on thick, strong uncoated cardboard and is quite appealing.

The Tarocco degli Animali is one of Menegazzi's many creations, this one devoted entirely to animals. The major arcana and court cards each feature a different animal, from cat the giraffe, while the pip cards all depict a motif of the same animal for each suit.

This is a 78 card French Tarot devoted to, what else, cats! The tarot scenes in the Tarot du Chat are European style, and instead of humans they feature regular and anthropomorphised cats.

The Tarot Familiars is a 78-card deck of animals in magical settings, by wildlife artist Lisa Parker. The major arcana and court cards well characterise each animal, though sadly the minor arcana cards are unillustrated pip cards.

The Tarot for Cats shows cats instead of humans to illustrate the cards, of which there is only the major arcana. The Hanging Cat is a particular favourite of mine... I could just about frame these cards.

The Tarot of Reincarnation is a rather non-traditional deck, having more in common with playing cards than tarot cards. Each card is pictured by an attractive and real-looking image of an animal, which seem linked with the major arcana but less so with the minor arcana.

Featuring human figures with the heads of anthropomorphised animals, the Tarot of the Animal Lords cards are more charming than they sound. The animals chosen are from all over the world and include African elephants, European badgers, Australian, sea horses, birds, even a few insects.

Cats of all varieties, including lions and leopards, accompany the colourful Cat People in this deck for all those cat lovers out there. The artwork in the Tarot of the Cat People is beautifully done.

The Tarot of the White Cats is very much in the tradition of the Rider-Waite Tarot - except for the blue-eyed, white cats drawn in the cards, instead of people. The symbolism is standard and non-threatening enough for use for the Tarot beginner.

The Wild Unknown Tarot has simple but intuitive tarot illustrations based on the animal kingdom and natural world. It was an incredibly popular independent deck when it was published in 2012, and happily is now widely available in a box set that includes the 78 cards and a 208-page guidebook.

Digitally published, the Three Cats Tarot was inspired by the creator's three cats. The cards show partly human, partly feline people along with the standard Rider-Waite Tarot symbology.

The Totem Animal Tarot is dedicated to the love of animals, and features digitally painted portraits of the artist's friends with their own totem animal. Still a work in progress, the deck is intended to be a 78 card set on completion.

The Twilight Rabbit Tarot has 78 cards of anthropomorphic rabbits in Rider-Waite-like scenes. Majors have been renamed to suit the theme (eg. the Hareophant). Suits have also been renamed to Clover (Wands), Passions (Cups), Carrots (Swords) and Stones (Pentacles).

The Vulpine Tarot is a colorful, 78-card fantasy deck characterised by its anthropomorphic foxes. The deck breaks away from the cookie-cutter imagery of Waite-Smith clones, and has a different feel inspired in part by the Witches Tarot. The deck is still in progress, as is its accompanying book.

Way of the Horse is a unique set of 40 cards of equine archetypes and illustrations, designed to offer simple wisdom for personal insight and growth. The deck comes with a 255-page companion book.

White Sage Tarot combines animals in the major arcana and chakra energies in the minor arcana, all painted in a soft, minimalist artistic style. It's a calm and uncluttered deck of positive and gentle energy, suitable for all ages.

Wisdom of the Australian Animals Deck
From common animals such as the kangaroo and wombat, to the little-known potoroo and quoll, a wide range of birds, mammals and reptiles can be found in this unique oracle deck. Each card in the Wisdom of the Australian Animals Deck shows one animal, with keywords and rune, astrological, and crystal correspondances in the border. Now out of print, but re-created as the Australian Animals Tarot.

The Wolf Pack Tarot, previously a black and white illustrated semi-tarot deck, has now been published in a full-colour 78 card edition picturing illustrations of the wolf in its nature world. The keywords, listed at the top of each card, are reputed to be all you need to understand the deck.

The Wolf Song Cards have a Native American theme and features 60 attractive paintings of animals from Northern America in their natural settings. Available as cards-only or as a book set.
